Federal Government Announces Free Insulation Package
The Australian Government is investing $4.2 billion in the Energy Efficient Home Package to improve the energy rating of Australian homes - cutting their energy waste, making them more comfortable and helping homeowners reduce their electricity bills up to 40%.
The Homeowner Insulation Program offers free ceiling insulation worth up to $1600 to eligible Australian homeowner-occupiers of currently uninsulated homes.
The purpose of this package is to improve the energy rating of your home, keeping it cooler in summer and warmer in winter as well as reducing your electricity bills and greenhouse gas emissions for the benefit of the environment.
This program now covers all eligible households and is in effect from 1 September 2009 to 31 December 2011 or until the date when Program funds have been fully allocated, whichever occurs first.
